Velvet Hammer
Velvet Hammer is Peticolas Brewing Company’s signature Imperial Red Ale, first brewed in Dallas in 2011. It pours a deep ruby to reddish-brown color with a creamy off-white head and delivers a rich, malt-forward flavor built around caramel and light brown sugar. Floral hop character and a moderate bitterness balance that sweetness, while the 9% ABV adds a noticeable warmth without overwhelming the beer. Despite its strength and 85 IBU rating, Velvet Hammer is remarkably smooth and balanced, landing somewhere between a bold malt-driven ale and a hop-forward craft beer. It has a slightly full body, plenty of flavor, and the deceptively easy-drinking character that inspired its name: smooth like velvet, but with considerably more strength underneath. Peticolas still lists it as a year-round beer, and it won a Bronze Medal in the Imperial Red Ale category at the 2026 U.S. Open Beer Championship.

Thrilla In Brazilla
Thrilla in Brazilla is a bright, citrus-forward American IPA with a golden color and a tight white head. The aroma leads with strong fruity esters and plenty of fresh citrus, followed by a light resinous hop character in the background. Those same flavors carry into the palate, where orange and other citrus notes combine with a firm but balanced hop bitterness. It has a medium body and enough malt structure to keep the 75 IBUs from becoming harsh, making it surprisingly smooth and approachable for a full-flavored IPA. Peticolas originally brewed Thrilla in Brazilla for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, releasing it on June 12, 2014, for the opening Brazil–Croatia match. Its popularity led Peticolas to bring it back for later international soccer events, and it remains one of the brewery’s recurring limited releases.
STOUT STAT
INTRINSIC
Stout Stat pours a deep, inky black beneath a creamy tan head, delivering inviting aromas of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and toasted malt. Smooth and full bodied, each sip brings rich espresso and cocoa flavors with a touch of caramel sweetness, balanced by a gentle roasted bitterness and a clean, slightly dry finish. Its bold character pairs beautifully with Opa favorites such as lamb, grilled meats, gyro, and rich chocolate desserts. Proudly brewed nearby by Intrinsic Smokehouse & Brewery in Downtown Garland, Stout Stat is a great opportunity to enjoy a flavorful local craft beer while supporting one of our neighboring North Texas breweries.
Lakewood Lager
Vienna-Style Amber Lager
Lakewood Lager is a traditional Vienna-style amber lager built around smooth malt flavor and easy drinkability. It pours a clear copper-to-amber color with a creamy off-white head and opens with a subtle caramel aroma. Traditional European malts provide a gentle toasted, slightly sweet malt character, while noble hops add a rounded, restrained bitterness that keeps the beer balanced rather than hop-forward. The finish is dry, crisp and clean, making it refreshing enough for another glass without losing the richer malt character that separates it from a typical light American lager. Lakewood describes it as an especially food-friendly beer, and its balance makes it a natural match for grilled meats, burgers, robust cheeses and other savory dishes.
Samuel Adams OctoberFest
Märzen-Style Lager
Samuel Adams | Boston, Massachusetts | 5.3% ABV | 16 IBU
Samuel Adams OctoberFest is a classic Märzen-style lager brewed to capture the rich, comforting flavors traditionally associated with Oktoberfest celebrations. It pours a beautiful deep red-amber color with a creamy, off-white head and immediately leads with aromas of toasted bread, caramel, and lightly roasted malt. A blend of pale, Munich, caramel, and specialty OctoberFest malts gives the beer its signature smooth, slightly sweet malt character, while traditional Tettnang Tettnanger and Hallertau Mittelfrueh noble hops provide just enough floral and earthy bitterness to keep everything balanced. The body is medium and satisfying without becoming heavy, with flavors of caramel, toasted grain, fresh bread crust, and a subtle roasted finish carrying through each sip. At 5.3% ABV and 16 IBU, it is intentionally malt-forward rather than aggressively bitter, making it approachable, smooth, and extremely food-friendly. The finish is clean and gently sweet with enough crisp lager character to invite another sip. Released seasonally from August through October, Samuel Adams OctoberFest is designed around the spirit of the traditional Munich celebration—a hearty but easy-drinking fall lager that pairs especially well with sausages, grilled meats, pretzels, roasted dishes, burgers, and other rich savory foods.
